16 March 2010 - 18:51HTC HD2 Set to Sail or Fail

These days it seems that every new cell phone that is released is overly hyped about, ready to bring you what no other phone has offered before, able to fill a need that’s so prevalent that no one should go without this or that phone. This “over-hype” for every new electronic device, specially cell phones, makes it difficult for down-to-earth consumers and everyday people to weed out and pick a phone that truly comes once a year (that’s a long-time in the cell phone industry). So if you’re reading this article with guarded reserve and a healthy dose of pessimism for this phone I’m about to introduce, it is well justified. The “latest and greatest” phone for the multi-media geared cell phone user is the……T-Mobile HTC HD2.

The T-Mobile HTC HD2 is a phone with a spear-point-like objective: to make the mobile multi-media experience unforgettable. Until now the purpose of most cell phones seems lost in the plethora of features they offer, capable of playing video, audio, taking pictures, or being able to do everything. I guess the old saying holds true, “jack of all trades, master of none.” The HTC HD2, however, has an ultimate goal, a purpose, with its large 4.3 in. LCD screen, to watch videos;  1Ghz processor, to run those videos; built in media-player, to view videos; and large 16gb memory card, to store videos.  Sure, the phone is capable of doing most things other cell phones can do, like take grainy pictures, browse the web, send e-mails, and so on, but the HTC HD2 stands tall, claiming its stake as a dominant multimedia phone.

Using the iPhone as a measuring stick to see how good a phone is seems to be the trend these days. You’ll hear iPhone killer this and iPhone killer that. However give the HD2 its proper space and appreciate its distinct features and you’ll appreciate the phone for what it was meant to do. When the iPhone was first released, it wasn’t advertised to do any one thing exceptionally well. Sure it makes calls, plays videos, sends e-mails and surfs the web, but did it do any of those things remarkably well? What the iPhone does have is integration. The way it seamlessly moves from one app to another and how all the core apps “talk to each other.” The HTC HD2 again goes back to its sole purpose, to watch videos.

Like the iPhone, you can bet that the HTC HD2 will have an abundance of accessories, some offered directly through T-Mobile and others through websites like Think HD2, who seems to already have a number of HTC HD2 Accessories. Before you know it you’ll find HTC HD2 Cases, HD2 Chargers, HD2 Batteries and may be, just maybe an HTC HD2 Hobo Cardboard Case (wouldn’t bet on this one though). The first of which will probably be HTC HD2 Screen Protectors and then to some HTC HD2 Silicone Cases and so forth. Regardless, support for the phone will undoubtedly add or detract from the success of this excellent phone.

23 October 2009 - 17:42Verizon Touch Pro 2 Cases Now Available!

The HTC Touch Pro 2 is one of the hottest cell phones in the market and just about every provider has decided to carry them, so purchasing one, no matter who your cell phone carrier is, should be relatively easy. However, getting HTC Touch Pro 2 accessories is not so easy task and this is why. The different versions of the phone are different in suble and not so subtle ways. The location of the charging port, for example, is different between the T-Mobile version and the Sprint/Verizon version of the phone. Another difference is the shape of the screen is slightly different between the T-Mobile version, AT&T version and even the Verizon/Sprint version of the HTC Touch Pro 2. All of these differences make is difficult to purchase a case and those who assume that the different versions are all the same are in for a suprise. The T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro 2 cases are already available and on sale through a number of Cell Phone accessory websites, however, the Verizon HTC Touch Pro 2 cases were just released this morning by thinktouchpro2.com and can be purchased through their site. Good luck shopping for accessories for the HTC Touch Pro 2. verizon

12 September 2009 - 0:10T-Mobile Lowers Price on myTouch 3G New Lower Price $99

T-Mobile lowers price on the T-Mobile myTouch 3G to $99. Customers can now purchase the phone for $100 less than the original MSRP wiht new activation and promo code.

September 10, 2009 – Bellevue, Wash. – T-Mobile has dropped its price on their new T-Mobile HTC myTouch 3G in an attempt to entice customers to purchase the new phone. “I’ve gotten pretty comfortable with the keyboard and am not ready to switch,” said one comment on T-Mobile’s forum for the myTouch 3G.

The new, lower $99 price for the T-Mobile myTouch 3G is valid until September 24, upon the signing of a contract agreement and after entering a promotional code when purchasing the phone from the company’s website.
